Saurabh Goel, Jabong’s CPO quits to launch own venture


Saurabh Goel, one of the key names in the fashion startup, Jabong, who served as chief product office for over 8 months has decided to quit the startup to launch his own startup in financial technology space.

Saurabh joined the company last year when Jabong did a series of high profile hiring. It was before Jabong had appointed its new CEO, Sanjeev Mohanty. In an email response, Sanjeev stated that Saurabh always wanted to have a go at entrepreneurial stint and this is the right time to let him go behind following his passion.

The CEO of Jabong even added that the post of CPO is now open and the COO of the startup, Muralikrishnan is handling the added responsibility.

Speaking on the development, Saurabh Goel said that this is the right time to call it quits as the fintech sector is going to have a disruption in the coming time. His startup, is going to be launched in July this year. It will work as a marketplace model for finance related goods such as insurance, investment options and mutual funds.

This is going to be the second high profile exit from Jabong this year. Prior to this, Saurabh Srivastava, who worked as chief marketing officer called it quits. He was hired around the same time last year from mobile wallet firm, mobikwik.
