Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd has unveiled its 950 Pro SSD (Solid State Drive) that is designed to fulfill the high- quality performance demand of laptop and PCs at the company’s annual SSD Global Summit in Seoul Korea.
According to Samsung, this 950 Pro SSD form the company is the first Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) M.2 form factor SSD with vertical NAND (vNAND) tech and support PCIe 3.0 interface. This SSD from Samsung is more reliable, fast and efficient. This device will also improve performance and consume less power, which leads to longer battery life.
The 950 Pro SSD comes in two different capacity 512 GB or 256 GB. The 512GB storage device offers sequential speed of up to 2,500 and 1,500 MB per seconds for read and write respectively. Its random read performance is up to 300,000 IOPS while write performance is up to 110,000 IOPS. Samsung’s this Storage device comes with the company’s second generation MLC V-NAND 32 layer 128GB die architecture.
This solid state 950 Pro drives are made for business purpose and the drives can sustain temperature between 0 and 70 degree Celsius. In addition to this the drives can also handle vibrations up to 20G and shock up to 1,500G/0.5 ms.
Samsung gives five year limited warranty with this solid state drives. Samsung will ship its 950 Pro SSDs in October. The 256GB version will cost $199 and 512GB will cost $349. Samsung promises that the new drives will give solid performance, capacity and value for your money.
