Samsung Tizen smartphones could be released in Russia and India soon

Wall Street Journal has reported that Samsung Electronics is planning to launch the Tizen smartphones in Russia and India. The Company has announced in the last month that it is going to launch the Tizen based smartphones in the second quarter of this year. The report has also said that it is the Samsung’s latest step to compete directly with the Apple Inc and Google Inc in mobile software and services.

Tizen the Samsung’s home grown Operating System and it is a Linux based Open Source Operating System developed by Intel and Samsung. Actually Smart devices powered by Samsung Tizen Operating System are expected to launch last year but the company is unable to meet the expected schedule.

Wall Street Journal has revealed that Samsung is planning to introduce the Tizen powered smartphone at an event in the Moscow in the next few weeks. Samsung is planning to release the Tizen smartphone in Russia along with India which is the potential market.


In January a Korean website has leaked some of the images of the Tizen Smartphone that is named as Samsung ZEQ 9000 and rumors spread that it is going to sport a 4.8 inch screen with HD display.

Samsung is seeing it Tizen range of Smartphone as the alternative to Apple iOS and Google Android OS. With its latest Tizen OS powered smartphones, Samsung is aiming at the emerging markets like Russia and India which are filled with the budget Android devices.

Back in January Samsung has claimed that NTT Docomo will be the first mobile carrier to sell the Tizen smartphone.
