Samsung appears to be expanding its portfolio of flip phones in China as the vendor has taken the wraps off its new offering SM-G9098. The new Android dual-screen flip phone is listed on the official China website, but the details pertaining to its pricing and availability remain under tight wraps.
As for the specifications, the SM-G9098 features dual 3.7 inch Super AMOLED displays – one on the inside and the other on the outside of the phone. Both these screen pack WVGA resolutions of 480×800 pixels that translates to average pixel density of 252 pixels per inch.
The Samsung SM-G9098 is based on Android, but the version of the platform available on the phone remains unclear. Otherwise, the dual SIM smartphone is equipped with a quad-core processor ticking at 2.3 GHz paired with 2 GB of RAM. Also onboard is a 13-megapixel primary camera teamed up with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facer for making video calls.
There is no word on the internal storage capacity of the handset, but the official listing claims that there is a micro SD card slot supporting up to 64 GB of additional storage. Other goodies include connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and 3G and a 1,900 mAh battery whose backup remains undisclosed.
The Samsung SM-G9098 flip phone features faux leather design at its back with the China Mobile logo tipping that is exclusive to the carrier. So far, there is no information on the global launch of the same and we need to wait for Samsung to announce the same.
