In the recently concluded IFA event at Berlin all the popular mobile manufacturers have introduced their Smartwatches. Samsung has announced standalone smartwatch Samsung Gear S with attractive design and it features the SIM slot too. On the other hand Asus has came up with Zenwatch. Here begins the competition and below is the detailed comparison of both the smartwatches and let us see which wins the race.

Design and Build Quality

Samsung Gear S features the cool curved display and rectangular in shape and it comes with the SIM slot and GPS inbuilt. Its display is completely packed with the calls, notifications and weather forecast as well. It comes along with the nice blue colored quartz design which adds additional beauty to the device.

On the other hand Asus ZenWatch comes in cool design and classical appearance. It can be used as the best alternative to the traditional watches. This is not the case with Gear S, as it comes with 2-inch display and you feel it bulky on your hands and it is something put you away from the crowd.


Galaxy Gear S


Samsung’s Gear S comes with the 2-inch AMOLEd displayed with curved screen with the resolution of 360 x 480 pixels resolution. It’s bigger screen doesn’t mean that the software partners can be more inventive with their apps. ZenWatch has the 1.63 inch display with 320×320 screen resolution and it also comes with AMOLED display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen. Gear S is powered by 1.0 GHz dual-core processor along with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory.

ZenWatch is powered by 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, which is bit powerful than Gear S processor. It is found in mid-range smartphones. It has 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory as well. Gear S runs on Tizen based Operating System and ZenWatch runs on Android Wear Operating System.

Most of the specifications are similar, but notable differences are their screen sizes, processors. Gear S comes with SIM slot and in-built GPS.
