As per a recent report, Samsung’s 2014 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5 and the the latest Galaxy Note 4 would receive the Android L update by the end of November or in early December.
Now, a new video has come up showing the Samsung Galaxy S5 based on Android L test build LRW58J alongside the vendor’s new TouchWiz UI. A Sammobile has posted the detailed 8.5 minute long video that shows the Galaxy S5 fueled by the Android L test build.
The report also notes that the video will obviously not reveal all the new features of the improved TouchWiz UI by Samsung, but the YouTube video definitely provides an idea of how the vendor is moving ahead with the UI tweaks for the upcoming Android L update.
The Galaxy S5 running Android L test build features a new White theme that replaces the outdated blue theme. The report adds on that Samsung has been using the blue theme since the announcement of the Galaxy S2 in 2011.
Some notable features revealed by the video are the revamped applications for Dialer, Messages, Memo and Clock. For now, there are no in-app animations as the build is still in the early stage. Reportedly these apps have been developed from scratch as per the guidelines of Google’s new Material Design. A couple of viewable notifications directly on the lock screen as well.
For now, there is no official confirmation from Samsung regarding the roll out of the Android L update for the device. It has to be noted that Google is also yet to reveal the exact time frame for the Android L update’s roll out for its Nexus devices.
