The fourth generation Samsung phablet – Galaxy Note 4 is believed to be unleashed at the Samsung Unpacked press event at the IFA 2014 tech show that will be hosted in Berlin in September. While this is known based on the launch pattern of the South Korean tech giant, the specific launch date of the same has emerged now.
As per a new report by Android Geeks, an insider has revealed that Samsung will be officially launching its next generation Galaxy Note phablet at the aforementioned event on September 3, 2014.
The report suggests, “The same insider that exclusively told us last year that the Galaxy Note 3 launch was September 4th revealed for us that Samsung has scheduled the Galaxy Note 4 release date for September 3rd. He also said that the South Korea-based phone maker will send out the invitations to the Unpacked event sometime mid-August.”
As for the specifications, the Galaxy Note 4 is said to retain the same 5.7 inch display as its predecessor. However, being the next generation model, the device will reportedly boast a QHD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The device is expected to come in different variants with various processors under their hood based on the region. Rumor has it that one variant will come stuffed with a Samsung Exynos Hexa SoC and the other will come with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC.
It is speculated that the Galaxy Note 4 will come with 4 GB of RAM for superior app handling and multi-tasking, 32 GB or 64 GB of default storage space with provision to expand the same up to 128 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Furthermore, it is said to include a 16 MP primary camera or an even higher 20 MP primary snapper and a 5 MP front-facer.
Software-wise, the Note 4 should be coming with the latest version of Android provided Google releases the same before September or at least the latest iteration of v4.4 KitKat.
But, it has to be noted that these aforementioned aspects are only speculations that are based on the existing set of rumors. And, we ought to take them as a dose of skepticism until Samsung official confirms the details.
