Robosoft funded by Ascent and Kalaari



Robosoft funded by Ascent and Kalaari Capital for $12 million as Series ‘B’ funding recently. The company is a mobile solutions provider from Udupi, Karnataka. Robosoft Technologies Pvt Ltd develops third party mobile apps and publishes them too.

This is the second funding for Robosoft in recent times. The company has two subsidiaries viz, Global Delight and 99Games, engaged in developing mobile games for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows and Mac Apps platforms.

99Games has developed and published its own games like Star Chef and Dhoom 3, a Bollywood movie based games. Robosoft was founded in 1996 and went for funding in 2013 after 16 long years. The company claims of developing 1000+ applications with cumulative download of 100+ million.


Global Delight focuses on the iOS and Apple platforms in the video, audio and image domains. The product ‘Camera Plus’ has recorded over 27 million downloads and one of the Apple’s best for 2014.

Robosoft is hiving off the subsidiaries into two separate entities. However Robosoft will be major promoter in these two companies. The company founded by Rohith Bhat and others. He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Robosoft Technology.

Rohith Bhat has graduated in Bachelor of Technology from NMAM Institute of Technology in 1992. In 1996 he founded Robosoft Technologies and he is managing the company. He also become Chief Executive Officer of 99Games Online Ltd in 2008 and holds the post.


Shylaja Rao is the Chief Operating Officer of  Robosoft Technology. She has graduated in Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from NMAM Institute of Technology in 1998. After the graduation she became joined Robosoft as COO till now.

The company was funded for the first time during 2013 by Kalaari Capital. The Series ‘A’ funding was for $3.7 million. During April 2015, Robosoft received $12 million as part of Series ‘B’ funding from Ascent Capital and Kalaari Capital.

Ascent Capital contributed major part of funding in this round and Kalaari Capital funded small portion of the deal. Rohith Bhat, CEO of the company said “the new round of funding will be used to bolster all our current offerings across service segments.”  He further added “that there are plans to expand to Android platform, user acquisition and taking the current crop of products to the next level of innovation.”

Robosoft has big list of clients starting from Global giants like Apple, Google, Intel, Walmart Labs and HP to name few. Indian companies like ICICI Bank, IIFL, Genpact, Snapdeal, IBN Live, NDTV and Paytm are few clients for the company.
