In iOS8 Apple introduced the recent contacts for the app Switcher, which is used to call quickly and text your most contactable friends, Colleagues and families. Just tab on one of the buddies and an assortment of options appears are call, Message/text or face time. This feature helps you to access the ¬†contacts easy and quickly. Steps to disable the iPhone’s App Switcher

  • Initially you need to open the settings and go to mail, calender, contacts and then show in app switcher and disable both phone favorites and recents.


  • Once you are done with the above step, Now go to the app switcher which is accessable by double pressing the home button.
  • Finally you will see the recent contacts are gone just like in iOS7. That’s it you are down with the disable the iPhone’s app switcher.

There is one more option in addition to disabling the recent contacts, in switcher application there is option to enable favorite contacts.

    i have a question, when i unclick recents in app switcher they do not show , but when i reclick (enable) it again they are there. Is there a way to permanetly delete them? I have tried to delete them from phone app and they are not there but come back in app swithcher, thanks
