Singapore based budget hotel booking platform, RedDoorz has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from 500 Startups in the second tranche of its pre series A round. The first tranche was led by Jungle Ventures in September last year.
With the raised funds, the startup plans to build and strengthen its position in South East Asia. RedDoorz started its operations in Indonesia around 3 months back and it aims to increase the outreach in that country along with strengthening in other markets such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur & Thailand.
RedDoorz was launched in 2014 by Commeasure, a company which helps hotels build and manage their digital presence. RedDoorz is an online platform for budget hotels which gets budget hotels, service apartments, Inns & resorts on one portal. It also provides advice to hotel owners along with guiding them to standardise their offerings and getting them online through its platform.
Started by Amit Saberwal and Kunwar Asheesh Saxena, RedDoorz estimates the South East Asian travel market at $60 Billion with the travel destinations such as Singapore, Bali, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and ThaiLand. RedDoors considers this opportunity as a big one provided, the market is still pretty much fragmented with very less adoption to technology.
