Reddit ends terms with Imgur, launches image uploads

If you are a reddit user, you must be knowing about Reddit’s policy of not allowing to upload any images. Instead, the users had to upload the image on imgur and then share the link on Reddit, however, starting today, the online sharing service has allowed uploading pictures on its own website to make it more easier for the newbies and convenient for the existing users.

In the first stage, it has launched this feature for 50 categories including EarthPorn (Nature), Aww, Art, Food, Funny and Gif. In the coming weeks, the online portal is planning to roll out this feature for all the categories.

Andy from the product team announced this feature and added that for a long time, other image services have been an integral part of Reddit in allowing the shared images to be hosted on their servers, however, with the latest development, the portal is planning to provide better and seamless experience to the users.

In the initial stage, it will allow users to upload images of maximum 20 MB and GIFs of 100 MB. Imgur at the same time, allows GIFs till a maximum size of 200 MB.
