Content Discovery app, Planet GoGo gets funds from HT Media

The content aggregator, Planet GoGo has raised unspecified sum in seed round of funding from HT Digital Media Holdings Ltd. (Which is a subsidiary of HT Times) and North Base Media (NBM). The company will use this freshly raised fund for traction and user growth. The app will also support multiple languages, as more and more people are using their smartphones for content reading.

Business head of HT Digital Media Holdings Ltd, Amit Garg said about the development, “We are pleased to announce our first investment in the mobile content discovery space. This investment is in sync with HT’s endeavour to support new startups in digital media and ad tech space,”

The partnership with North Base Media is also going to prove useful for Planet GoGo, as NBM mainly focuses on the media and media tech all around the world. The founder of Planet GoGo, Rajat Gupta said, “With the ever increasing number of smartphone users, GoGo focuses to revolutionize content consumption for mobile users without having them to spend for it, a large part of the population today relies on apps for everyday content needs and GoGo provides users with curated quality content on-the-go,”

Planet GoGo was started by Daman Soni and Rajat Gupta in September 2015 and the startup launched its first Android app GoGo this November. The main goal of the startup is to provide updates and personalized news content to your Smartphone’s lock screen. GoGo is a lock screen app for content discovery. Users can also get free talk time, by earning GoGo points while using the app.
