Philips has announced the launch of a smartphone called Philips i966 Aurora and this will be the company’s latest flagship smartphone in China. The handset is priced at 3,699 Yuan that translates to $600 approximately.
The Philips i966 Aurora is fitted with a 5.5 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The display is a 2.5D arc glass and there are slim bezels with 63.8 percent screen to body ratio and is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 scratch resistant protection.
Under the hood, the Philips smartphone arrives with a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics unit. Running on Alibaba’s YunOS 3.0 that is based on Android, the handset features a 20.7 MP primary camera with LED flash, Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor and f/1.8 aperture. Also, there is an 8 MP front facing selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture for video conferencing.
The Philips i966 Aurora is packed with connectivity features such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS and a 3,000 mAh battery. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back of the handset and it highly sensitive that it can work even on wet hands.
