Pantech is the third largest smartphone manufacturer based in South Korea next to Samsung and LG. Now, it appears like the vendor is planning to garner the consumers’ attention largely with the launch of an extra-large device called Pop Up Note carrying the model number IM-A920S.
Lately, there were rumors suggesting that the next generation phablet from Pantech will make use of the 64-bit Snapdragon 810 from Qualcomm’s stable. Contradictorily, the latest reports claim that this processor will be ruled out as the device will be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor that ticks at 2.3 GHz clock speed. Though the 801 is a powerful processor, it remains incomparable to the latest 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chipset.
Going by the previous rumors, the Pantech Pop Up Note will be based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and will include a 5.5 inch FHD 1080p display. It is said to arrive with a 13 MP primary camera that is coupled with a 2 MP front-facing camera. The other goodies that are rumored to be a part of the Pantech phablet include 2 GB of RAM and LTE connectivity.
It appears like Pantech will soon announce the Pop Up Note officially only for the South Korean market. Though the vendor would desire to launch its devices in the global market, it definitely is not a popular one as Samsung.
