Oppo to launch new U3 smartphone, specs revealed

By | November 6, 2014

Oppo recently launched two new powerful smartphone, the N3 and the R5, but it definitely seems that the Chinese company has another device to out before the end of this year or may be early of next year.
The yet unheard of this latest rumored Oppo U3 got itself benchmarked using GFXBench, and as usual that means we can take a look at some of its most important specs you can see in the image below.

According to the leaked specs, the phone probably features 4.6 inches of display with a resolution of 1920×1200 (Full HD),  a 12 MP rear camera with 4K (UHD) video recording support, a 5 MP front snapper with 1080p video capture, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat for now but may be by the time of launching the device can get the latest Lollipop.

To increase the performance of the device Oppo has packed MediaTek MT6752 SoC with a 1.7 GHz octa-core CPU, and an ARM Mali-T760 GPU, aided by 2GB of RAM. But the surprising things that the benchmark has shown is its in-built storage memory is showing only 1.1 GB. That means the U3 smartphone comes with 4 GB on-board storage space that will be expandable via micro SD card.

It is very hard to believe that Oppo has offered this feature to this device or maybe we’re dealing with a very early prototype of the smartphone and the company didn’t feel the need to fit it with more memory.
