OnlineRTI gets $150K of angel funding from LetsVenture and others

Founded by Pradeep Bhatt and Vinod Ranganathan in 2014, OnlineRTI, which is an online platform that allows users to file Right to Information application (RTI), has secured angel funding of about $150,000 from LetsVenture, Mohandas Pai and some other investors. President of IIFL, Nipun Goyal, co-Founder of Sling Media, Bhupen Shah and Oilphans Capital have also invested in this round of angle funding raised by OnlineRTI.

OnlineRTI is a Bengaluru based startup that allows users to file RTI application without any disturbance through its platform. As of now, the company has almost 120K applications on its platform. Out of this, 40K applications have been processed to the government.

Working procedure of the platform is also easy:

Step 1- once you file RTI, the startup’s drafting team will draft your application and find out the respective address for your application.

Step 2- the company will pay your logistic fees and send the application through speed or registered post.

Step 3: After, all these process, you will receive the information from the government authorities within 30 days.

OnlineRTI will use the fund for marketing and product development process. Shanti Mohan, CEO of LetsVenture said about the development, “The mass adoption of the internet economy is having a transformative impact within India and OnlineRTI is leveraging that to simplify a process of obtaining and applying for RTI. They are raising funds on LetsVenture for the second time,”

The company had also raised more than $7,000 from a group of investors through LetsVenture platform in 2014. Some other platforms like YourAdhikar and RTI Nation also offer same kind of service.
