If you have experienced Virtual Reality video by using VR headset, then you are aware that it feels pretty lonely. When you watch the VR videos, then it feels like you are watching it in an empty theater in the real world. So to overcome this loneliness experience, VR giant Oculus is planning to introduce “multiplayer” mode to Oculus Cinema app. This new update of the app will let you feel that you are watching cinema with your friends in the same theater sitting next to you.

Palmer Luckey, founder of Oculus told in an interview to Road to VR that the company is trying to give a better way to watch the VR video. He also said that they are planning to give user a movie watching experience with all your friends in the home theater or a cinema hall.

In the interview Luckey says, “We already have a lot of internal social functions in Cinema that are going to be rolling out in the next few months, Things like avatar systems, being able to communicate with people over long distances… rather than just local multiplayer, but having actual long-distance multiplayer as well.”

This Oculus Cinema virtual movie theater app is currently available for Samsung Gear VR, but the company will also bring it with the consumer version of Oculus Rift in 2016. The Oculus Rift will have some more social features than what company is offering right now with Oculus Cinema. There is still time, before we come to the conclusion that what this multiplayer features will do and it actually give the virtual reality experience it is taking about or it will be same lonely experience.
