Netflix to stream Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Canada

Want to save money for watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You can watch the movie by streaming through Netflix at your home, but you have to live in Canada for it. Netflix has confirmed that the timing of its Disney deal will allow customer to stream new Star Wars movie in Canada after eight months of its release. Canada is only place, where Netflix has secured the streaming rights of this latest Star Wars film.

According to the reports of Variety, the Netflix’s content deal with Disney in U.S. will not commence until 2016. The films releasing in 2015 comes under the Disney’s deal with American cable channel Starz. As Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to release on December 18, this means that Starz can only stream the film in U.S.

If you are not living in Canada, then you can watch the rest of the Star Wars movie at your home. Ted Sarandos, the Content Chief of Netflix has said to Variety, “It’s up to Disney how they want to manage access to those assets before, during or after the release of ‘Star Wars VII.’ So it’s certainly an ongoing discussion,” This is a really very good news for Canadian Netflix users, as they can stream the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie at their home.
