Music Streaming service Tidal getts 1 million subscribers

Despite of so much completion in the Music streaming service, Tidal is doing pretty fine. The Jay-Z owned music streaming service has now more than 1 million subscribers, which is announced by Jay-z himself via twitter.

The rapper and entrepreneur tweeted about this milestone and his tweet says, “”Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists” Tidal is platinum. 1,000,000 people and counting. Let’s celebrate 10/20 Brooklyn.”

Tidal has announced that it is going to host a charity concert in Barclays Center in Brooklyn on October 20th. Some top-most artists like Jay-Z, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Prince will feature in this concert. If you can’t attend the concert, you can stream the concert on its official website even though you are not a Tidal subscriber.

One million subscribers can be big milestone for Tidal, but if we compare it with other music streaming service, it doesn’t stand a chance. Spotify and Rhapsody has 15 million and 3 million subscribers respectively. It can also be noted that Tidal is a bit new music streaming service since Jay-Z has acquired it, so there is still room for its growth.

This is not the first time that the rapper has announced this kind of details, as back in April Jay-Z announced about the 700,000 subscribers. The money raised via the concert will go to a non-profit organization named New World Foundation.
