Fitness startup, MobieFit gets $1 Million from Medi Assist

The mobile fitness startup, MobieFit has raised $1 Million in strategic investment from Bangalore based Medi Assist. MobieFit is a fitness startup headquartered in Goa, which offers various fitness products. FirstRun is the first fitness running product of the company, which is a voice supported fitness coaching application.

MobieFit was founded by Gourav Jaswal and Gul Panag as Prototyze. The startup had also raised funds in angel round of funding from Siddharth Parekh of Paragon Partners and Mahesh Murthy of SeedFund. The startup is planning to launch some more apps in other fitness areas next year.



Director and founder of MobieFit, Gourav Jaswal said, “Fitness is as stratified as the restaurant business in India. Over 50 million people walk, over 10 million practise yoga and over 7.5 million are members of gyms. At the same time, Indians are migrating everything in their lives to their mobiles: banking, learning, entertainment and more.” He also added, “With our partnership with Medi Assist, we hope to take our mFitness offering to more than five million corporate employees in urban India,”



Medi Assist is a managed healthcare company. Currently, the company manages corporate wellness program for more than 5,000 corporate customers. The COO of Medi Assist, Satish Gidugu said, “Mobile fitness, customized to specific needs of each individual, and combined with gamification to add a social flavour, is the next logical evolution for our mobile app users. In Mobiefit, we find a strategic partner who understands the pulse of the Indian customer”
