Minecraft for Xbox One to be released on September 5

Microsoft has tweeted that Minecraft for Xbox One is finally arriving on September 5, 2014. This game is an instant hit on Mojang and Xbox 360. Microsoft has also confirmed that, if anyone has bought Minecraft already for Xbox 360 edition then they just need to pay $5 to upgrade it to the Xbox One edition. Minecraft is the top selling Xbox Live arcade gaming title for Xbox 360.


Minecraft Xbox One edition improvements

  • Minecraft Xbox One edition now has the worlds that are 6 times larger than that of the Xbox 360 edition, which means that there is much bigger world to shape.
  • It features eight player online play.
  • It will also features four-player splitscreen.

Minecraft Xbox One edition is available in the digital version from September 5 for $19.99 and those who already using the Xbox 360 edition can upgrade it to Xbox One edition with just $4.99. You can buy the game using either credit card or with the prepaid Xbox Gift card.

All the downloadable content which you have purchased on Xbox 360 can be downloaded for free on Xbox One console. So players will not loose any content ot the worlds which they have created on Xbox 360 console, since everything on it can be transferred to Xbox One.

Microsoft has said that, 13 million units of Minecraft 360 editions were sold out since its release on 9 May 2012. The total units of Minecraft that are sold on all the platforms were 55 million. Minecraft is currently available for Xbox 360, PC, Play Station 3 and Smartphones.

Mojang and Sony were working together for the Play Station 4 and Play Station Vita version. Playstation 4 version of Minecraft did not clear the testing of the August relase.
