Microsoft updated Cortana to bring detailed stock profiles

Microsoft has recently announced its personal assistant “Cortana” for the devices running on Windows Phone 8.1. The name Cortana has taken from the artificial intelligence character in the Halo series, Cortana. It was announced for the first time by the Microsoft Vice President, Joe Belfiore at Microsoft BUILD developer conference in San Francisco in April.

As the Cortana team has already promised that Cortana will be updated twice every month. Today Microsoft updated Cortana to include the detailed stock profiles with charts, prices and other information. The latest update also tracks the changes in the stock prices over the period of time in addition to showing just stock price rise or fall.

Cortana now displays the change in stock prices over a period of time in the graph which already done by Apple’s Siri and Google Now. The last update was announced by Marcus Ash, Program manager at the end of June has announced that Cortana has been updated to include the FIFA 2014 World cup predictions.



Microsoft has announced Cortana as a competitor to Apple’s Siri and Google Now at company’s build conference in the April month this year. Cortana is powered by Microsoft’s Bing search engine and it is currently available only in US in beta version. Microsofthas made an announcement that, it is all set to release the Cortana for Windows Phone 8.1 devices in China, UK with in few weeks.

To launch the Cotana on your Windows Phone just press the live tile on the Start screen or press the search button. Last month, Microsoft has also updated Skype for the Windows Phone 8.1 devices to add Cortana support.
