We have been hearing about the Nokia McLaren smartphone for quite sometime. The device was so long speculated to arrive with buttonless interaction and gesture functionality similar to the Amazon Fire smartphone that went official last month. Now, it appears like the McLaren smartphone will be killed off by the Redmond based firm.
As per a report by Windows Phone Central, the software giant appears to be have decided to wipe out the plans regarding the 3D Touch smartphone alleged to be based on Windows Phone 8.1. It was rumored that the McLaren smartphone will be launched in the US by the end of this year. As per the report, the reason for the termination of the handset is said to be cost concerns.
Notably, the cancellation of the Nokia McLaren smartphone leaves the firm devoid of any flagship smartphone for the second half of this year. If you were not aware of the McLaren, it was the handset that was claimed to be the sequel to Lumia 1020 launched last year and it was pegged for September launch.
