Medium has acquired a startup which helps to manage and speed up the way users manage their feeds. SuperFeedr manages all kinds of feeds including RSS, Atom and JSON. A service like medium can leverage the technology of SuperFeedr to deliver the feed realtime to the subscribers.
SuperFeedr currently works with a few great services like About.me, Etsy, Player Fm and IFTTT. Following the acquisition, there will be no change in the way it provides services to the clients. The servers will rmian active and the clients will continue to get the services they signed up for.
Medium is one of the greatest bundle of content. With the acquisition, SuperFeedr team will surely look to provide better and faster feeds for the websites hosted on medium. As soon as the acquisition happened, Medium rolled out an option for the users, using which they can turn on full content RSS feeds.
Prior to the acquisition, SuperFeedr had raised an undisclosed amount of funding betaworks and Mark Cuban. The financial details of the acquisitions were not disclosed and looking at SuperFeedr, the deal does not seem to be a big one.
