Mobile gaming startup, Mech Mocha has secured an unspecified sum in fresh round of funding from Blume Ventures and Flipkart. The Bangalore based company will use this fund to strengthen its team and develop more games for Indian market. The startup is also going to develop a back-end platform that will have social and payment options for the games.
Mech Mocha is a Bangalore based startup that offers multiple mobile games. The company has launched its first game named Puppet Punch, which according to the company had 100,000 downloads within 4 days after launch. Currently, according to the company, it is seeing $1,000 worth transaction per day on its platform. The startup was founded by Arpita Kapoor, Mohit Rangaraju and Shilp Gupta.
The co-founder and CEO of Mech Mocha, Arpita Kapoor said about the development, “We have over 400,000 installs and growth is accelerating as smartphone sales increase in India. We are working on more payments options to shore up revenues. Our major growth drivers would be the tier II & tier III cities. Therefore, we are focusing on mass Indian gaming segments with precise focus on popular culture, local text gratifications in Hinglish and many other India-inspired assets,”
Some other gaming startup of India had also raised funds lately. Blume Ventures and FlipKart had also participated in funding raised by gaming startup MadRat back in 2014. MadRat had raised $1 Million in that round of funding. Another gaming startup, Moonfrog had also raised $15 Million from US based Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global and Octro Inc.
