Matrix funds Purple Squirrel Eduventure P Ltd for an undisclosed amount on April 09, 2015. Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay incubated startup. The company organizes; customize industry visits for college students. They have partnered with small and large companies.

Purple Squirrel provides experiential learning where a student gets more out of the education. Students can learn by doing, earn practical knowledge and skills sets. The company provide work culture insights in depth and cultural activities that includes local food, live performance by local artists.



The company provides secured and seamless payment process, apart from the security of student during industry visits. Students can visit locations where local guides and mentors are arranged by the company.

Purple Squirrel Eduventure was founded in 2013 based in Mumbai, the financial capital of India by Aditya Gandhi and Sahiba Dhandhania. The company is into education, professional services and career management.

Aditya Gandhi is founder of Purple Squirrel and has good professional and educational qualifications. He has dual degree (B.Tech and M.Tech) in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai in 2012.

He started his career in 2009 as Core Group Member of Media and Public Relations for Mood Indigo. In Mood Indigo he led a team of 60 students to build biggest media campaign. He worked as intern in several organizations like E & Y, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India till 2012. In September, 2012 he joined as Trader in Equity Options for Optiver Amsterdam. He handled trading and market making and arbitrage activities. In 2013 he moved back to India to found Purple Squirrel.

Sahiba Dhandhania is co founder of Purple Squirrel. She has Honours in Economics, Financial Economics and Consumer Psychology from Christ University, Bengaluru in 2013. She is gold medallist in the university. She started her career as Vice President in AIESEC, Bangalore in 2011 and moved on to become Exchange Director. Then she joined D E Shaw Group as Financial Associate worked till December 2013. In January 2014 she along with Aditya founded Purple Squirrel.

The startup has been funded with seed capital of $300 K by India Quotient in July 2014. On April 09, 2015 Matrix Partners India funded an undisclosed amount in the company. The funding will be utilised towards product and operation expansions. Purple Squirrel has delivered 8000+ unique experiences in experiential learning and associated with 300+ companies and conducts 100+ activities at 8+ destination hubs.

After funding Aditya Gandhi said, “Our programs are fast gaining acceptance across major universities as an aid to classroom education to produce industry-ready graduates.” 

Gourav Bhattacharya, VP of Matrix Partners said “Purple Squirrel has a unique business model and targets a large, underserved market. We remain extremely positive on education tech in India and will make multiple investments in the space.”
