Mark One, the company which has built a smart cup, which tracks the water intake and hydration for the user, has raised $4 Million in additional funding from Intel Capital.
Speaking on the development, an Intel Capital spokesperson stated that as part of Intel’s strategy, the fund participates in the follow on rounds to help the portfolio companies grow better in the future. Beside providing funding, Intel Capital also introduces the startups to its scientists, customers as well as the partners from across the world.
Coming on Mark One, the startup uses intel’s Curie Hardware Module. It is a power efficient solution with motion sensors and battery charging, which allows it to analyse the input by its sensors to give the desired results. The same formula allows Mark One’s cup to identify the actions, such as filling water and lifting it to drink.
Speaking on the development, Alan Johnson, CEO – Mark One stated that the latest funding will allow the startup to fix the connectivity and reliability issues from the Pryme Cup. However, he further added that the team is already working on the version 2 of the cup.
