The latest investment brings the total amount of investment raised by company to a total of $2.5 Million. Along with that, it has brought in Alice Brooks (Founder CEO – Roominate) and Rajiv Patel (Owner of lift Projects) on the board and they will be heading the design segment for the gaming startup.
The raised funds will be used to develop better product and include more items in the portfolio. Also the startup is looking to develop a pre order campaign and a part of the raised money will go into the R&D for that.
MadRat Games was founded by the trio of Rajat Dhariwal, Madhumita Halder and Manuj Dhariwal in 2010. It started as a company which built educational games such as learning puzzles, board games, mobile games and toys. The prototype of its latest product, SuperSuit was launched at CES this year and now, the early bird registrations are open. The startup claims that SuperSuit is world’s first wearable gaming platform and it helps users save a lot of screen time along with increasing social interaction. The pre order campaign will be launched later this year.
Speaking on the development, Rajat Dhariwal, CEO SuperSuit said that the main focus of the startup has always been to bring back the focus on outdoor gaming technology. Over the last few years, outdoor gaming has really vanished and we are trying to get the momentum back by introducing gesture based gaming. Also, he was pretty excited about Alice & Rajiv joining the board and hoped that it will be beneficial in the longer run.
Before this, the company has raised 3 more rounds starting with $500 from Blume Ventures and First Light ventures in 2012, $1 Million from Flipkart Founders and then $168K in 2015 from Snapdeal Founders.
