Living Local, Indian hyperlocal social discovery platform based out of Mumbai has raised $200K in seed funding from Rattan Chadha, former CEO (Mexx Clothing Company).
The startup helps people to explore various local options including restaurants, events, nightlife events, parties etc. It also allows the users to recommend places and activities to their friends and ask the friends for recommendations. It was launched in 2014 as a coffee table book, however, in January this year, the startup came up with a social network which makes connecting easier and fruitful.
The raised funds will be used to expand the business along with developing better technology and launching the app by the end of this month. The startup is looking to capture Mumbai before getting into any other market.
Talking on the development, Neeraj Vasudev, Co-Founder Living Local said that the idea was validated with the response they got from the earlier version of product, i.e. coffee table book. The main aim now is to get more customers leveraging the mobile platform in the time to come.
