LiveNinja, one of the latest players trying to leverage on the transformation of live chat and messaging in mobile apps, has announced their latest funding round of $2 Million from Anzu Ventures, Comcast Ventures, Catalyst Fund, Scout Ventures, Citi Ventures, Accelerated Growth Partners and SeedInvest. Prior to the latest round, the startup had also raised $1.5 Million from New York based Scout Ventures.
The raised funds will be used to bring out new functionalities within the LiveNinja messenger along with investing in strengthening the sales team. The startup is offering services for free for a limited period of time, after the free period, it plans to charge on “pay-as-you-grow” model. Immediate future plans even include rolling out support for other messengers with available APIs like Facebook and Twitter.
LiveNinja has been working on building an interface which includes chat and video to get integrated with a brand’s website or app and engage the users. However, the latest challenge is to integrate messaging apps and the live chat in a single platform to engage customers as well as enable brands to interact with them easily.
LiveNinja has been working on a similar product, which will integrate with the CRM of a brand and help the brand manage and engage with the customers better. It will also help the brands to keep the customers on the website itself.
