LG Files Trademarks for G Flex Frame, G Frame and F Frame Names

By | October 7, 2014

Last month, it was reported that the South Korean tech giant LG has filed trademarks for names of its upcoming flagship devices with USPTO till the year 2020. Well, predictably these trademarks for the names LG G4, G5, G6, G7, G8 and G9.

Within a month’s time, it appears like the vendor has again visited USPTO in late September regarding the trademarks for different set of names. But, this time is seems like there would be interesting and curious offerings for undefined future as the manufacturer has filed trademarks for LG G Flex Frame, LG G Frame and LG F Frame respectively. From these names, it can be said that the first name could be for successor of the 2013 model, LG G Flex, but the rest of the devices are pretty mysterious.

Ongoing media reports suggest that the LG G Frame could be a variant of the flagship model LG G3 or a new lineup and the LG F Frame could be a mid-ranger. Also, the reports suggest that the stress on the word Frame could hint at a metallic lineup of devices. It adds sense for LG to launch a metallic smartphone lineup as its rival Samsung has already announced the Galaxy Alpha lineup with metal frame and is prepping to the Galaxy Alpha A3, A5 and A7 in the series. However, nothing is certain for now and we need to wait until LG lets out a word regarding these devices.
