The LG F490L has got its Bluetooth certification as it surfaced through Bluetooth SIG. The upcoming handset supports both Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE connectivity features as well.
According to past rumors, the F490L is codenamed Liger and it will be a great model for the second biggest South Korean tech giant, LG. The reason for the same is that it is the first LG device to arrive with the vendor’s self developed Odin chipset that the firm is claimed to be prepping for a long time. The leaked benchmark results of the Odin processor has been surfacing since 2013.
Based on these results, it is speculated that the Odin will be having an octa-core processor and there would also be a variant of the same with four cores. The octa-core version may use four ARM Cortex A15 cores along with four Cortex A7 power efficient clusters in big.LITTLE configuration.
Reports about the graphics unit used have been contradictory as there are claims that it could have either ARM’s Mali-T604 for the quad-core variant and the Mali-T760 for the octa-core variant or even a PowerVR Series 6.
Hopefully, the LG Liger will go official soon as all the details about the Odin SoC should officially surface when that happens. It is claimed that the first carrier to get this new smartphone may be South Korea’s LG U+.
