While there were numerous rumors speculating the alleged release dates of the LG G Watch R, the vendor has come up with a press release outlining the global rollout plans for the wearable device. The second generation LG smartwatch based on Android Wear was launched couple of months back at the IFA 2014 tech show.
The South Korean tech giant expects the G Watch R to be made available for grab in the European markets including France, Italy, Spain and UK in early November. The primary markets in North America, Asia and CIS are slated to get the G Watch R sometime after its availability debuts in Europe. It is also claimed that the wearable will be landing on the Google Play Store in the coming weeks.
Sadly, LG has not announced any other details pertaining to the specific release date of the smartwatch. Nevertheless, we can expect the G Watch R to retail in select markets by the end of this year.
The LG G Watch R boasts of a 1.3 inch round P-OLED display with 320×320 pixel resolution and uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset ticking at 1.2 GHz clock speed aided by 512 MB of RAM. The wearable comes with 4 GB of native storage capacity, 9-axis sensors, heart rate monitor, barometer and a 410 mAh battery. Furthermore, it boasts of a dust and water resistant build with IP67 certification.
