One of the online services which helps developers and marketers to engage with the mobile users in form of text messages and UI optimization, LeanPlus has raised series B funding round led by Kleiner Perkins. The funding round was also joined by the past investor, Sastha Ventures.
LeanPlum, graduated as an Android & iOS A/B testing service from TechStars 2012 has been doing exceptionally well. The company recalls itself as a Mobile Lifecycle Marketing service. The company also announced the completion of its project, Lifecycle engine. Lifecycle engine lets the marketers analyze the user behavior and sends them personalized messages accordingly.
Talking to the media, Co-Founder & CEO of Leanplus, Momchil Kyurkchiev pointed, “Our business grew 5x year-over-year, and we’ve received strong market validation from companies like Expedia. It’s time to put more fuel in the tank and continue to be the category leader with our cutting edge platform,” he said. “If we look back 10 years from now, we will realize that now was the time when enterprises adopted mobile en masse, just like they did a decade ago with the web. It’s really exciting to be building the leading mobile marketing platform, and this funding will fuel even more growth.”
Leanplus does manage the analytics and it gives an option to test the UI changes on the fly. With the launch of the new Lifecycle engine, the company now offers a full-fledged solution to the marketers to test the apps, record the user behavior and send them personalized messages. Most of the services were offered before by LeanPlum, however, the company lacked a full-fledged dashboard, which could be easier to manage by the nontechnical users. The new Lifecycle engine does that for the marketers or the developers.
The general tendency of users abandoning the apps is no more a secret and LeanPlum solves the issues for the marketers by having some preset triggers which can be used to send personalized messages to the users at the time of uninstalling. Leanplus assists the developers with an sdk which can later be used to track the usage and behavior of the users from inside the app.
The funds raised in the latest round will help the company scale up in various terms. According to Momchil Kyurkchiev, near future holds many positives for Leanplum as the company will be heavily investing in marketing and sales.
