Kitchen Designer CapriCoast raises funds from Accel Partners recently. The company is set to revolutionize modular furniture buying in India. They have large catalogue of over 1,000 designs, one can customize and order them.

CapriCoast’s online catalogue offers widest range of models to suit any design inclination and every budget. From internationally inspired designs to kitchens pre customized for project specific floor plans, from kitchens that are compact and functional to the spacious and opulent.

Easy to use online customization and the support of the design team allow unlimited design iterations until customer needs and budget are addressed. The online platforms allows designs, colors, specifications and costs can be compared and contrasted at click of button.


The company started providing services in Bangalore. Zansaar co founder Jawad Ayaz has founded, website owned by CapriCoast. Jawad is the Chief Executive Officer of the company; he has done his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from R V College of Engineering, Bangalore in 1987 and Masters in Electronics Engineering from University of Dallas in 1990. Known for his rich entrepreneurial skills and business acumen.

He started his career as Manager –GSM Switching software in 1990, he built and designed Nortel’s GSM switching platform. He worked with the company for 5 years and founded Ind-Telesoft Pvt Ltd in 1995; in 1999 he founded Xybridge Technologies, designed wireless soft switch product market with Motorola. The company was later sold to Zhone Technologies in 2001.

In 2001 Jawad founded Openera, wireless technology play building packet communication applications for mobile devices that include real time video, voice and multi media. The company was acquired by NMS Communications in 2006. He was the Chief Technology Officer of the company during acquisition.


He joined as Managing Director of NMS Communications in 2006 was incharge of India market and operations. He was providing product strategy and technology direction for the mobile applications division now known as Livewire Mobile.

In 2008 he founded 20North, the company works on online direct imports model into India and aggregates products from the US suppliers allowing customers anywhere in India to buy anything from the US. One can pay in rupees and products will be directly delivered at the doorstep.

Jawad is the director and Chairman of Applied Mobile from 2009 till now. He also has founded for which he is the chief executive officer.


CapriCoast received their seed capital for $1.3 million from Accel Partners India. After investing in the company, Prashanth Prakash, managing partner of Accel Partners India said “We see massive growth in the modular furnishing market in India and see CapriCoast’s disruptive online-led approach as offering the most customer value in terms of product range, transparent pricing and ease of buying.”

“’s online model eliminates middlemen and brings in cost efficiencies that are passed on to the customer, making it possible for the price of a world class modular kitchen to be 20-25 per cent lower than any other comparable offerings in the market,”  Jawad Ayaz of CapriCoast said after funding. He added “The $10 billion modular furnishing market in India, is mostly unorganised with minimal quality standardisation, obfuscated pricing and a tedious, high-friction purchase process. We want to change this by providing an engaging, never before customer experience,”

The funding will be used for expansion in all the metro cities by the end of this year. Another noteworthy point to be observed, Accel Partners and Tiger Global invested $6 million in in 2012, shows the confidence in the founders of CapriCoast.
