The Japan Display Corporation has announced a new 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with a “4K” resolution (3840 x 2160). The LCDs will provide a super high-definition experience for the tablet. It contains a pixel density of 438ppi which makes the display color more sharp and crisp.
JDI reveals 4K LCDs for 10.1-inch tablet
Japan Display Inc. has developed a 10.1-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) with an ultra-high resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels for tablets means now the tablet will provide 4K resolution.
The display also offers a 160-degree viewing angle, the LCDs screen will able to providing brightness of around 400 nits and a contrast ratio of 1100:1. This display would enable Windows and Android tablet manufacturers to giving a tough competition to the Apple, which has the iPad Air that has a display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536.
This product will open a new path for high-reality HD expressions of photos, video, content and game content for the tablets also. Now the user can gain the Play station and Xbox features in its tablet instead of its Full HD, or 4K Television sets. The JDI will be pioneering of 4K2K display modules for mobile devices as next-generation flagship models.
This product has been used the low-temperature poly silicon (LTPS) technology, which has used for a long time by the JDI, that provides lower power consumption, low profile and narrow dead-band functioning also.The power consumption is as low as that of the 10.1-inch WQXGA2 LCD has based on the amorphous silicon technology3. This low battery consumption features makes the tablet more energy efficient and the battery life of the tablet will also increase
