JB Hi-Fi is going to close its eBook service, which was launched almost two and a half years back. The company has announced that the JB Hi-Fi Now eBook store customers won’t be able read or download eBooks bought through the store from September 30th.

This announcement from JB Hi-Fi is made after merging with international eBook giant Kobo. This is a good news for existing JB Hi-Fi customers, as users will have option to transfer their JB library to Kobo free of cost. This is not first time that Kobo has acquired the eBook services, as the company has already acquired eBook store of Sony.

JB Hi-Fi customer will receive an email before or soon after September 15th and the email comes with instruction on how to transfer the eBook library to Kobo store and a unique code. If you have received email, then follow the steps, but if you didn’t then check your spam folder. If you don’t find the mail in your spam folder also, then contact JB Hi-Fi customer care.

Once you transfer your eBook library to kobo, you‘ll have access to all the eBooks purchased via JB Hi-Fi and can read it through Kobo Books app. JB Hi-Fi has also said that small number of books will not be available for transfer, but the customer will be informed about this during transfer process. There is one more thing you should consider that bookmarks and highlights made in JB Hi-Fi app is not going to transfer to Kobo app.
