Today will mark one of the biggest days in the tech world as Apple will host an event to announce its highly anticipated two new iPhone models. It is widely speculated that the Cupertino tech titan will introduce two variants – a 4.7 inch iPhone and a 5.5 inch phablet. Both these devices have been a part of the rumors and speculations since many months and now we have just hours for the official announcement.
One of the aspects that have triggered a plethora of speculation is the final moniker that these iPhone models will carry. While both were rumored to be called iPhone 6, a latest report points out that the 5.5 inch model will be named iPhone 6 Plus instead of the previous reports claiming that it will be retailing as iPhone Air.
Apart from this, both the new iPhone models will reportedly arrive in three color options similar to the iPhons 5s – Gold, Silver and Space Gray. Also, the handsets are claimed to come in three different configurations – 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB following the usual Apple launch pattern. So far, there is no confirmation about the existence of the 128 GB variant.
There are expectations claiming that 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus will run iOS 8 optimized for landscape apps that will contribute to the usability of the applications. Moreover, there are claims that the larger variant will be hitting the retail shelves only in December, but this again awaits an official confirmation.
