Facebook announced that it is investigating the claims that suggest that its iOS app is causing battery drains. The battery drainage reports started circling, when Matt Gilligan explained in his blog that the iOS apps of Facebook is causing up to 15 percent of battery drainage over 7 day period.
Matt Gilligan explained that he has switched off the background refresh option of iOS Facebook app, still it was running for 3.4 hours in background during a 7 day period. Another users from MacRumors also claimed that Facebook apps was running for 8 hours even after switching off the background refresh option, which is causing 39 percent of battery life of the iPhone.
So now, it is still unclear that what is causing this much battery drainage of the iPhone? We still don’t know the reason behind this battery drainage problems. All thanks to Facebook, as the social media giant is looking into the problem, so we can hope that it fixes this problem soon.
The company said to TechCrunch, “We have heard reports of some people experiencing battery issues with our iOS app, we’re looking into this and hope to have a fix in place soon.” Currently if you are using iPhone and want to improve your battery life, you better uninstall the Facebook apps.
