Intex partners with Microsoft to offer 50GB OneDrive space on smartphones

The mobile phone maker Intex Technologies has partnered with Microsoft to offer its customers 50 GB of cloud storage space for two years through OneDrive for smartphones sold in India. As per the deal, the OneDrive app is said to be pre-installed on all smartphones that come with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage space. The various smartphones, that are to come with pre-installed OneDrive are Aqua Speed HD, Cloud Power Plus, Aqua Star II (16 GB) and Aqua Power Plus. This offer is expected to expand to other matching smartphones models in near future.

Sanjay Kalirona, Business head of mobiles at Intex Technologies said, “With online being the preferred medium, online storage space has also gathered a lot of traction. So, keeping consumer trends in mind, we have forged a first-of-its-kind association with Microsoft and introduced an in-built app ‘OneDrive’ that will give users free cloud storage Space of 50 GB. We are confident that this association will further strengthen our commitment to satisfying consumer needs better.”

The partnership of Intex and Microsoft is not limited to OneDrive only, as the company also plans to offer Skype to selected Intex smartphones. Right now, Intex is offering Skype with Aqua Turbo 4G, Aqua Slice II, Aqua Star II (16 GB) and Aqua Life III. Currently, Intex is second largest mobile phone maker in India.
