Instagram hits a milestone today, as Facebook owned image sharing site reaches 400 million active monthly users. This new milestone is announced by the company through a blog post. Instagram has reached this much users nine months after the company announced 300 million monthly active users.
This is what the Instagram team have to say about this new milestone, “Our community has evolved to be even more global, with more than 75 percent living outside of the US. To all the new Instagrammers: welcome! Among the last 100 million to join, more than half live in Europe and Asia. The countries that added the most Instagrammers include Brazil, Japan and Indonesia.”
Instagram is growing steadily and rapidly and the most interesting fact about the growth is that most of the new users are from outside U.S. According to Instagram, 75 percent of users live outside the home country. Growth of Instagram is very impressive even more than Twitter, which currently has 316 million monthly active users. But it is still well behind its parent company 1 billion marks.
Instagram hits 400 million marks in less than five year. The company has also said that users are posting 80 million photos per day, which is pretty impressive. Finally, it looks like with the help of Facebook, Instagram has found ultimate way to attract people from every corner of the world. Currently, this is largest photos and video sharing social media site.
