By | September 7, 2014

Though HTC was rumored to launch an Android Wear based smartwatch, the vendor pulled out of the wearable race for some reason. But, it seems like Huawei is on a rage to join the smartwatch race in the next year. Well, Richard Yu, Huawei CEO confirmed that it will launch an Android Wear smartwatch in 2015.

According to an Engadget report, the executive also confirmed that the upcoming smartwatch will be innovative and beautiful. Yu also took a shot at the newly launched Samsung Gear S that is based on Tizen.

The manufacturer has already launched the Huawei TalkBand B1, a fitness band cum smartwatch earlier this year. This device has a 90 mAh battery that provides 6 days of battery life to it. Also, the device is compatible with any Android smartphone running on Android 2.3 or above and on iPhones based on iOS 5 or above.

Anyway, Huawei is planning to launch a smartwatch only in the next year and in the meantime many vendors will arrive with their offerings. Apple is all set to launch the iWatch at the upcoming big event slated to happen on September 9.
