HTC to release limited number of HTC Vive this year

HTC Vive, the Virtual Reality headset created by HTC in association with Valve had been expected to be released sometimes this year, but the commercial launch of the device had  postponed till next year. However, some people  can get their hands on the device, with the company launching limited number this year.



Before the PAX Prime Expo, Valve has said in a press release, “HTC will offer the first commercial Vive units via a limited quantity of community and developer systems with larger quantities shipping in calendar Q1 2016.” The developer version of Vive has been available for free since May.



HTC Vive is not the only VR headset to be released next year, Oculus Rift VR headset has plans to hit the market in the first quarter of 2016. Sony has also planned to release its Project Morpheus PS4 headset in the first half of 2016. It means that we are going to see a full-on VR headset competition in 2016.



With the release of multiple Virtual reality headsets, 2016 is going to be a good year for VR technology. This also means that VR technology lovers will have more wider options to choose from.
