Rumors are rife regarding the HTC made Nexus 9 tablet that is pegged for launch sometime this quarter along with the Nexus 6 smartphone and Android L update. The recent leak from Twitter bound leakster @upleaks appears to have shown the first image of the tablet called Volantis.
The source is well known for the information that it shares and one such latest leak is the information about Desire Eye smartphone revealing it has dual 13 MP cameras. The alleged Nexus 9 image leaked by this source shows that the slate uses plastic instead of metal and that the material is pretty similar to matte soft plastic as in the previously launched Nexus devices. Also, it appears to boast a pretty different design from the Nexus 7.
In addition to this, a report from Android Police claims that the Nexus 9 tablet has been approved by FCC, the US regulatory firm tipping that its official launch is not too far away. The listing reveals the model of the tablet is 0P82100 and that it will come in two variants – one with 16 GB and the other with 32 GB of native storage capacities respectively.
The previous rumors claim that the Nexus 9 codenamed Volantis’ features an 8.9 inch display with a resolution of 2048×1440 and employs a Nvidia Logan Tegra K1 64-bit processor backed by 2 GB of RAM. The device is speculated to arrive with usual connectivity aspects including Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi.
