Lately, HTC is in the tech headlines as the firm has sent out invites for an event to be hosted on October 8 in New York City. Though the vendor did not confirm the device that is on tow to be launched at the event, it was speculated to be a camera-centric one from the image on the teaser.
According to a Bloomberg report citing a source familiar with the plans of HTC, the firm will be uncovering a GoPro-like camera and a selfie focused smartphone at the next month’s event. Reportedly, the tube shaped GoPro-like camera will be featuring a 16 MP ultra wide-angle lens and the device itself can be easily connected to those devices running on Android and iOS platforms.
The report goes on stating that the purported GoPro-like camera from HTC will be packing connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is also speculated that HTC might release its own Android and iOS applications that can be connected to this camera.
The source revealed that HTC has delayed the launch of its first wearable device until next year. Lately, media reports suggested that HTC will be unveiling its own Android Wear smartwatch in early 2015 and that this wearable device will feature a customized version of the platform.
