HP Spectre 13 x2 Full Review with Specifications

Hewlett Packard is a Multinational Company is hoping to hit the spot between productivity as well as Multimedia with its latest product HP Spectre 13×2. Actually this is the revised version of HP Spectre 13, this time device can be used as a tablet after splitting the 13.3 inch screen in the middle.

we can say this New HP Spectre 13 x2 follows the footsteps of ultra book Stablemate, and the device was made from machined aluminium and shares the eye catching Champagne Gold and Truffle Brown colors with standard Spectre a decision that the helps x2 stand out. The metal has been pleasing precision and the hinge works as a small stand when the Spectre is open, which tilts the keyboard forward at a comfortable angle.


The Tablet has massive 13.3 inch display with 1080p, and it is surrounded by a thick glossy bezel. A webcam sits in the center of the top bezel with a home button in the bottom center. The lower bezel gives way to a large speaker grill that runs the length of the tablet. This tablets it self weighs around 2.2 pounds and dimensions are 13.4 x 8.5 x 0.44 inches. which is heavier and thicker than Microsoft Surface 2.

Despite the display dimness, the manages to deliver rich, vibrant color with sharp detail. A 1080p image of a parrot was an explosion of golds, royal blues, emerald greens and tomato reds. Details were clear enough to see the individual barbs on each colorful feather.


The speakers in this x2 placed in front which sounds Good, but the Bass was absent from the Outkast/UGK collaboration “Int’l Players Anthem. This hybrid registered 72 decibels on the laptop audio but it fails to reach 85 decibels category average.

Keyboard and Touch pad

you all know Hp is good at making the keyboards, the plastic silver keys are pretty good and has good spacing between the keys. The edge keys ESC, ENTER, Ctrl and Pg dn has good curve finish. Over all the keyboard is good for typing 55 words with a one percent error rate on ten thumbs typing test.


Touch pad Gestures including two-finger scroll and rotate, three-finger swipe and press and four-finger flick were swift and accurate on the 3.75 x 2.5-inch Synaptics touchpad. The bottom corners deployed with a small, but satisfying click.


The webcam capture the images and videos with 1080 pixels, Colors like reddish brown as well as black locs were accurate as per our body tone. Over all the webcam it pretty good to use.


In this Spectre 13 x2 has proprietary docking port and pair of slots for the keyboard dock can be found on the bottom with a power and headset jack. There’s also a microSD slot that’s concealed by a hard-to-disengage port cover. There is also a possibility of having Micro Card SD.  The USB 3.0 port sits on the right of the keyboard dock with jacks for a headset and the power cord. Another USB 3.0 port resides on the dock’s left, along with a HDMI port.


When comes to performance the device has Good specifications to performance well, The X2 achieved a measure of revenge on the boot test, starting Windows 8.1 in 10 seconds, six seconds faster than the average. The XPS 13 (128GB SSD) was only a few seconds behind with 13 seconds while the Microsoft Surface 2 (32GB eMMC storage drive) booted Windows 8.1 in a sluggish 17 seconds. The Aspire S7 (128GB SSD) left everyone in the dust, launching Windows 8 in 9 seconds.


This device has Intel Graphic chip which ensures the hybrid can play high-def videos and casual games. On the 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme benchmark, the X2 hit 19,149, which is slightly below the 20,328 thin-and-light average.

Battery Life

This device HP Spectre 13 X2 lasted 7 hours and 19 minutes on the Laptop Mag Battery test (Web surfing over Wi-Fi. That’s well above the 6:42 thin-and-light average, but nowhere near the Dell XPS 13 (8:38) and Acer Aspire S7 (8:53). The Microsoft Surface 2 surpassed everyone with a time of 9:19.
