Rooting the device requires some pre requirements and here is the list of pre-requirements. Remember this method is only for Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900v version.

  • First make sure that battery on your device is more than 70%, because rooting process consumes so much battery.
  • Back up all the data like contacts, messages and more on the phone internal memory, because rooting wipes out all the memory.
  • Turn off all the security programs running on the Android smartphone and also on the PC.
  • Install the Samsung Kies software on your PC for Windows from here and for Mac from here.
  • Download TowelRook APK(tr.apl).

  10. Once after installation of Superuser app, just update the app from Play Store.
  11. That’s it, you have rooted your device successfully.

If you want to protect your Knox warranty then follow few more steps to get your task done. Just install another app called BusyBox and you are done!.

How to install BusyBox

  1. Go to Google Play Store and search for “BusyBoxInstaller”.
  2. download and install this on your Verizon or AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5.

So, not sure what this is, but it definitely didn’t work and didn’t root my device:(

  • MisterX

Your “rooting package” is nothing more than a stock non rooted Odin file. This article is very misleading, don’t waste your time downloading it.

Already had SU and TWRP Mgr. b4 Oden, SuperSU reports ‘no SU binary installed and TWRP Mgr. crashes…

Didn’t publish my first post… what you didn’t like what I said? I just verified that you thread is incorrect, and this process doesn’t root the SM-G900V.

    • Sorry about that. We always take the data from some of the best authorized sources on the internet and this time, the information was a bit incorrect. It is always not possible for us to check every device and root it. We are working towards it and the moment we have something, we will notify you.

      Thanks for the concern.

How does installing stock firmware root the device?

  • AlfonzoBolla

I’d like to try this, but I find it a little bit odd that there are no comments on an article that’s almost 5 months old.

There was a server issue before a week or so and we had lost most of our data including comments. The Disqus commenting platform has been installed just because of that. Go ahead and try it out, you will not have any problem.
