How to make MacBook Into a Wireless Router

This article will tell  you how to turn your MacBook computer into a wireless router, by which you can share internet connection with other people or simply use the internet on your Smartphone and devices such as Smartwatch and tablets.

To make MacBook Into a Wireless Router, You have to follow some basic steps

Step 1 – First, you have to Navigate to Apple>System Preferences> Network

Step 2 – In the Network window, click on AirPort from the left Menu

Step 3 – Make sure your AirPort is turned on. If it is not pressing the ” Turn AirPort On ” button.



Step 4 –  NowUnder the “Network Name” Drop down menu choose “Create Network“.



Step 5 – In this step you have to Enter your desired SSID and Password and Create them

Step 6 – On Your router is up but its not sharing internet yet. For that you have to Navigate back to System Preferences.

Step 7 – Here you have to Choose the Sharing, according to your preference.

Step 8 – Now you can Enable the “Internet Sharing” feature by activating the checkbox  which is next to it in the left menu.

Step 9 – After that you will receive a message in which- asking if you are sure that you want to start internet sharing. Then Click to Start.

Step 10 – In the “Share internet from” a drop-down menu will appear, in which you have to choose your internet source. Most of the time this is Ethernet.

Step 11 – In the ” To Computers Using” menu, you have to choose the  AirPort.

Step 12 – Now you can connect to your router with other devices and enjoy internet over wifi.



Warning – The MacBook Air does not have any  Ethernet port and  it uses AirPort as its main internet source, this MacBook brand user can only use this article to make a Local Area Network over wifi and CAN NOT share internet via wifi.
