Now the days the internet connectivity is one of the most important things that we need. We all need a fast and Wireless Internet connectivity. For this we need a WiFi Hotspot. This concept of Wireless Hosted network was first time is introduced in Windows 7. By the using this feature we can easily create a virtual wireless adapter. To do this you have only required a CMD (Command Prompt) with Administrator authority. This process has some commands which are available only in Windows 7 or Windows latest variant (Windows 8 0r 8.1).
To Create a WiFi Hotspot via Command Prompt you have to follow some steps –
Step 1 – First of all you have to Click on the start button on your desktop or press the Windows Key on the keyboard.
Step 2 – Now you have to search CMD by Typing “cmd” in the search box and right click on command prompt. After that Select Run as Administrator.
Step 3 – Now in this step you have to access the Admin privileges, so you will be asked for User Account Control. For this you have to click on Yes. And then you will see the command prompt is running.
Step 4 – Type netsh wlan show drivers in command prompt and then press enter. It will show the output like the image. In the output Hosted network supported : yes means that your computer supports hosted networks. Verify this.
Step 5 – Now you have to type the netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Hotspotname key=password in the Command prompt. This will create a Hotspot but at currently it will offline.
Step 6 – Now you have to type netsh wlan start hostednetwork in the command prompt to start the hotspot, that you just created in the previous steps.
Step 7 – Now in this step you have to Type netsh wlan stop hostednetwork in command prompt to stop the hotspot.
Step 8 – Now you should Type netsh wlan show hostednetwork to check the hotspot status.
Step 9 – For Sharing the Internet connection on this hotspot go have to the Network and sharing center and then click on Change adapter setting. Here right click on the Connection, which you use to connect to the internet and select properties. In properties, go to Sharing tab and check the box “And Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection and select the network connection name that is used by your hotspot. (For this you have to check the Network Connection Window and look for Connection which says Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter). And save it. Now your internet connection is shared between other users.
