HouseJoy gets $22.5 Million from Amazon and others



Founded by Arjun Kumar and Sunil Goel in January this year, on-demand House service startup, HouseJoy has secured $22.5 Million in series B round of funding from group of investors. The investors, who have invested in this round of funding, are Amazon, Vertex Ventures, Qualcomm, Ru-Net Technology Partners as well as existing investor Matrix Partners India.

The company will use this fund to improve and scale up its services category to solve the operational issues of its customers. It will also use the fund for strategic acquisitions and partnership as well as building its team. It is aiming to serve 100,000 jobs on daily basis on its platform. It is looking to bring 50,000 service providers on its platform.

Currently, HouseJoy has partnered with more than 10,000 service providers over 11 cities on its platform. According to the company, it is currently providing service to more than 4,000 orders per day. It is expanded its services to Chandigarh this month. The company offers various on-demand home services including cleaning services, computer repairing, beauty treatment, maintenance and home repairs.

The VP and country manager of Amazon India, Amit Agarwal said about the development, “Housejoy seeks to provide customers with a differentiated experience in shopping for home services. This aligns with our mission in India to transform the way India buys and sells.”
The Bangalore based on-demand house service provider, HouseJoy currently competes with LocalOye,, UrbanPro, UrbanClap, Taskbob, Zimmber, Qyk and others.
